McLaren Automotive has announced a restructuring of its North American Communications function with the addition of Laura Conrad to support Head of NA PR John Paolo Canton, along with the appointment of global lifestyle PR agency Sidhu & Simon. The team reports into McLaren Global Communications & PR Director, Wayne Bruce. This announcement follows the recent launch of the sell-out 720S Supercar and the new 570S Spider, both of which are due to arrive in US retailers over the coming months.
Laura joins McLaren from a luxury automotive background with eight years of public relations experience, both in agency and in-house roles. She began her career at an agency that focused solely on automotive accounts, and has spent the last several years working directly for two different automotive manufacturers. Her background includes product PR, media relations and executing major launch events. Laura is well positioned to manage McLaren’s daily media relations and regional PR activities, and will report to McLaren NA Head of Public Relations, John Paolo Canton. Canton in turn reports into Wayne Bruce, who is based at McLaren’s Surrey, UK, headquarters.
“I am thrilled to welcome Laura as a key hire in our small yet growing team. Her background and relationships make her an ideal fit for McLaren, and I look forward to activating on a larger scale now that we have her on board,” said Bruce. “As McLaren Automotive grows and plans another 13 product launches between now and the end of 2022, our traditional and social media efforts are more critical than ever, and this appointment is a commitment to developing the department.”
Alongside Laura Conrad, McLaren North America has appointed Global Lifestyle PR Agency, Sidhu & Simon to grow McLaren brand awareness amongst luxury and lifestyle enthusiasts. Having five years of global experience working directly for McLaren Automotive in other regions, they are the ideal partner to work with McLaren North America during this period of strong growth.
The restructuring takes place immediately, and gives McLaren a top team to support media relations and social media efforts better than ever.
