“McLaren has enjoyed three years of success in China and we are delighted to be premiering the new 720S at Auto Shanghai 2017 as we look forward to further growth in this market,” commented Mike Flewitt, CEO of McLaren Automotive, who will reveal McLaren’s new supercar to the Chinese market during a press conference at 1000 hrs on 19 April. “Customer interest in McLaren cars continues to increase rapidly and we are pleased to recognize this not only by introducing the second generation of McLaren’s Super Series product family, but also a 570GT Commemorative Edition for China.”

The new McLaren 720S makes it first appearance in China in Performance specification, finished for the first time in a striking combination of Saros exterior paint color and Jet Black/Xenon Yellow leather interior with visible carbon fiber Monocage II structure. A carbon fiber roof panel, rear bumper and door sills further enhance the extreme sporting intent of McLaren’s second-generation Super Series, with bonnet inlets, mirror casings, rear fender air intakes and front splitter in the same material.

McLaren China will begin taking orders for the new McLaren 720S as Auto Shanghai commences, with the first customer cars arriving in July.

The 570GT Commemorative Edition has been created to mark three years of McLaren sales success in China. Luxurious and refined, with a side-opening rear glass hatch offering an additional 220 liters of storage on the leather-lined Touring Deck, the 570GT is the ideal starting point for a special celebration model; designed with a focus on day-to-day usability and long distance comfort, it also provides the scintillating performance expected of a McLaren.

Pacific Blue in color – the original launch color for the GT – the three identical Commemorative Edition cars feature a Jet Black and Areia (cream) luxury Nappa leather-trimmed By McLaren Design interior. The rear luggage area of the car is finished in the same material, and carpets are color-matched in Areia. A Carbon Black leather steering wheel and Carbon Black seat belts contrast with the light leather and complement the Jet Black fascia and door trim, while additional features above the usual 570GT specification include Bowers & Wilkins 12 Speaker audio system, vehicle nose lift and a rear-view camera.

To further enhance the visual drama of the car, the rear bumper and wing, door skirt and front splitter and blade are carbon fiber components by McLaren Special Operations and the lightweight forged alloy wheels and exhausts are in Stealth finish.

In addition to the new 720S and the 570GT Commemorative Edition, the McLaren 570S will also be displayed on the McLaren stand, which is 8A25, in Hall 8.1. McLaren cars can be ordered in China through any of ten McLaren retailers, in Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Changsha, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Shenyang.
